Megan’s Story

I was born in 1982 in southern Indiana, into a Christian home. When I was 9 years old I decided to invite Jesus into my life; while in university I decided to live everyday life with Christ at the center. Following the example of some friends of mine I actually began studying the Bible and talking with God on a regular basis.

I have had several opportunities to work with different Christian organizations (Campus Crusade for Christ, Christian Student Fellowship and Spring Hill Camps in Evart, Michigan) and a wide variety of age groups. My greatest joy is working with youth. I love to encourage and challenge them in their relationship with Jesus. I have found my hope and purpose in life—it’s in Jesus and what He has done for each of us!

Following this passion for the Lord, I enrolled in a discipleship school with Youth with a Mission (YWAM) in Brisbane, Australia in 2005. Part of the program was an outreach in Vanuatu for two months. My original intention after Australia was to return to the States and get a job. But during a worship service at the end of the outreach, the Lord gave me a glimpse into his love for the people of Vanuatu. I couldn’t help crying because I was overwhelmed and sure of His calling me to full-time missions. My life was going to change forever. In 2008, I returned to Vanuatu to join staff with YWAM; that’s where Lemy and I met.
